Expressive/Receptive American Sign Language (ASL) Assessments Evaluations: When requesting assessments, Expressive/Receptive American Sign Language (ASL) Assessments are a type of Language assessment for students who use or could use ASL. It is now available as an option under Assessment Type. Teams: Please make sure to include a Teacher of the Deaf on the student’s team.
Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessment (TPBA) is now available to select as part of the Evaluation Process. Preschool Evaluations: When requesting assessments, Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessments (TPBA) are a type of comprehensive assessment used by preschool evaluating teams that is now available as an option under Assessment Type. Preschool Teams: Please make sure to include preschool teachers, social workers, school/clinical psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists on the Preschooler’s team

The Functional Vision Assessment and Learning Media Assessment have been separated within the Assessments drop-down options. Also, the Learning Media Plan (LMP) document has been approved and is available as a fillable PDF. The LMP shall be uploaded into Supplemental Documents for students with visual impairments including blindness. On February 8, 2024, the Monitoring and Compliance Branch (MAC) issued a memo regarding the updated form for the Resolution Meeting Summary and Agreement. On February 15, 2024, the Monitoring and Compliance Branch (MAC) issued a memo regarding filing a Special Education State Written Complaint and an ImpartialDue Process Hearing.All the forms were updated to highlight the required elements and provide them in an efficient and user-friendly format. Copies of these forms and additional information are also available on the Department’s Dispute Resolution Website.
